The universal postal service is important. But the universal service is under threat. The explosion of digital media – internet, email, mobile text and broadcasting – has prompted an unprecedented decline in the letters market.
There is a positive future for the postal service, provided that postal companies are able to respond quickly to the changing needs of customers and embrace the opportunities which new technology brings. But this is not going to happen. What will be likely to happen is inflation due to the fact that the world’s central banks have been printing money like there is no tomorrow.
This will kill the value of money and asset prices will rise. Like gold, wheat, real estate, commodities both soft and hard. Stamps which are rare hold their value and under inflation will do well. The other interesting thing is that recently a Chinese vase went on auction and fetched £46000000.
Not bad! There are many reasons for this massive price but the main one is interesting. You see the Chinese are a significant force in the world both economically and in terms of demographics. China is going through unprecedented change right now and will continue to do so. As its communist identity is being eroded away to embrace a more democratic out look.
The Chinese are both nervous and excited at what the future holds. However as they take a glance at the past, they still want to reclaim a bit of their past both communist and feudal.
Well now with all this economic growth happening in China and the rise of a new middle class and the super duper wealthy mafia class, there is now money looking for investments and in an inflation driven environment and U.S treasury’s worth dirt low yields…..stamps are the way forward.
You see stamp collection was outlawed under communist China and now that it’s not this are moving full swing ahead and it’s in Chinese nature to tear the back side out if anything they gets obsessed with and stamps will be no different.
What is happening in China now is happening in all emerging market countries. So expect their people to do the same. The stamps that will do well are the communist ones and ones with ex dictators on them as well as cultural themed ones.
Good quality British and other well known stamps will do well as usual (penny black). A good way to gain exposure to the coming stamp craze and it already begun, is to buy a company from called reputable dealers listed on the London A.I.M exchange.
They are world leaders in stamp selling and auctioning rare stamps, so their shares will do well.
