Since its invention in the late 1860s airbrushing has always been an easy way to apply paint to almost any surface. Patented by the Stanley brothers, they had a need for coating photographic plates with the need to stop. It was only to be used in a truly marketable way at a much later date by a man named Abner Peeler. He brought this method to a new level by attaching it to a compressor and resigning it for 4 long years.
In recent years it has been used to digitally enhance celebrities and other subjects to fool the public into believing they actually look like this. This has been a very controversial subject and is probably best left there! Although i will say that there has been many effected by this from glossy magazines and bans have been threatened on multiple occasions through the years.
Onto the exciting stuff! I myself am a trained artist and have used many different mediums in my time but there is nothing quite like the way paint is applied with an airbrush, it goes on like silk! For people with a need to paint to precision this is the tool for you!
Make sure you keep away from others. Although you should be wearing a respirator, others wont be, so make sure you’re in a ventilated room and remember many compressors can make some serious noise so make sure that it would be right for your household!
To save us from the ever rising cases of skin cancer people are now able to benefit from spray tans. Not only will this you an even application like a greek god or goddess, you can chose a different colour tone every time you go. Unfortunately people are still acting irresponsibly and burning themselves on sunbeds but this method now enables people to buy a kit and do it with a friend whenever they want, but most of all, with no harm done.
Once you’ve bought an airbrushing kit you will have it for life depending on how well it’s kept, but with new technology hitting the markets and ever growing popularity you will never stop upgrading!
